Album Notes & Community Reviews

Backed by the remarkably tight instrumentation of The Expressions, the veteran soul singer delivers an astonishingly potent testament to traditional rhythm and blues. Bypassing modern neo-soul trends, the production authentically resurrects the brass-heavy, emotive rawness of late 1960s deep soul recordings. Fields' raspy, impassioned vocal performances tackle themes of love, infidelity, and redemption with unwavering conviction.
