Biography
Lee Fields is a North Carolina-born soul singer, nicknamed Little JB after *James Brown*, who recorded his first single in 1969 and built a cult reputation with 1970s funk singles and the album 'Let鈥檚 Talk It Over'. After a long spell away from music, he returned through the soul-blues circuit and the revival labels #Desco# and #Truth and Soul#. Since 2009 he has fronted The Expressions, releasing 'My World', 'Faithful Man', 'Emma Jean', 'Special Night' and 'It Rains Love' on #Big Crown#, then 'Sentimental Fool' on #Daptone# in 2022, a late-career run that made him a leading figure of the modern soul revival.
