Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in 1967 but unreleased for over a decade, 'The Procrastinator' is one of Lee Morgan's finest sessions and a pinnacle of late-era post-bop. The all-star lineup, featuring Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, and Bobby Hutcherson, navigates Morgan's moody and intricate compositions with incredible skill. The title track is a powerful and impeccably structured piece that stands as a high-water mark for the hard bop language as it reached its peak of sophistication.
