Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating as a vital transitional document in Jamaican music history, 'Africa's Blood' finds the visionary producer bridging rocksteady rhythms with the burgeoning, heavier sounds of roots reggae and early dub. The record heavily features the Upsetters as the studio backing band, employing pioneering studio effects and stripped-down, bass-heavy grooves. It stands as a prime early showcase of Lee Perry's eccentric and highly influential production techniques.
