- Type: Producer
- Born: March 20, 1936 in Kendal, Jamaica
- Died: August 29, 2021 in Lucea, Jamaica
Biography
Jamaican producer who built the Black Ark studio in Kingston and, with *The Upsetters*, turned dub into an art form on records such as 'Super Ape' (1976). His productions for *Junior Murvin*, *The Congos*, *Max Romeo* and the young *Wailers* rewired reggae's sound, and after the Black Ark burned he remained a prolific, flamboyantly eccentric recording artist and performer until his death in 2021.
