Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Leroy Anderson Conducts Leroy Anderson' presents the composer conducting stereo remakes of his own light orchestral miniatures, including a new stereo recording of 'Sleigh Ride', a piece he had first recorded at the start of the decade after Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops gave its premiere recording. Anderson's sessions for his label, begun in 1950, set down his works often in their first performances, and his own recording of 'Blue Tango' earned a gold record for a million sales.
