Album Notes & Community Reviews

The legendary Art Ensemble of Chicago trumpeter delivered a sprawling, eclectic double album that perfectly encapsulates his wildly humorous and historically reverent approach to jazz. The first disc features an energetic, brass-heavy quintet, while the second is an astonishing suite of unaccompanied solo trumpet soundscapes and vocal experiments. The record is a joyous, profound exploration of the entire African American musical continuum.
