Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded shortly before his untimely death in 1959, this posthumous release captures the fragile, intensely emotional final recordings of the profoundly influential tenor saxophonist. While physically weakened, his unparalleled sense of melodic invention and melancholic phrasing remains intact, supported by a sympathetic European rhythm section.
