Heavily indebted to My Bloody Valentine's wall-of-sound aesthetics, Kurt Heasley's debut is widely celebrated as a masterclass in American shoegaze. The record brilliantly balances massive, tremolo-bent guitar distortion with incredibly sweet, buried vocal melodies, resulting in a dense, shimmering cloud of melancholic noise-pop.
