Album Notes & Community Reviews

The first full-length album by Tokyo's Lip Cream, 'Kill Ugly Pop' followed the 1985 Chaos UK tour of Japan that the band shared with Gauze, the visit that consolidated the burning spirits style. Vocalist Jha Jha began writing his lyrics and titles in Japanese here, and the sleeve pairs a Jin Sato photograph with a Yasuo Yagi painting. The lineup of Jha Jha, guitarist Naoki, bassist Minoru and drummer Pill made it the band's defining statement.
