The Scottish ensemble's sophomore effort represents a highly intricate, rhythmically complex iteration of 1990s post-rock. Frontman Luke Sutherland's delicate, whispered vocals heavily explore themes of marginalized sexuality and racial identity over tense, tribal drumming and dissonant guitar lines. The challenging structures and cryptic lyricism firmly separated them from the more traditional guitar-pop prevalent in the UK at the time.
