Album Notes & Community Reviews

Introducing Lonnie Brooks' distinctively swampy 'voodoo blues' to a broader audience, 'Bayou Lightning' is a ferociously energetic triumph. The album flawlessly combines the aggressive, stinging electric guitar attack of Chicago blues with the deeply rhythmic, swamp-pop bounce of his Louisiana origins. The record firmly established Brooks as one of the premier stalwarts of the legendary Alligator Records roster.
