Album Notes & Community Reviews

After gaining prominence through Gal Costa covering his compositions, the Rio de Janeiro native issued this staggering, deeply bohemian debut. Seamlessly weaving traditional samba rhythms with American blues and soul, the highly poetic record instantly established him as a singular, idiosyncratic voice within modern Brazilian popular music.
