Album Notes & Community Reviews

Making his major-label debut under the Motown umbrella, the fiery guitarist unleashed a masterclass of intense, highly energized Chicago blues. Rejecting the polished soul aesthetic of his label, the record relies on raw, aggressive guitar soloing and Allison's deeply soulful, impassioned vocal performances. It remains an essential document of the grittier, modernizing edge of the 1970s blues scene.
