Album Notes & Community Reviews

Inventing their self-described 'murder metal' genre, the Chicago trio unleashed a staggeringly fast, profoundly disturbing debut full-length. 'Gloom' mixes extreme technical precision and hyper-speed grindcore drumming with bizarre nursery rhyme melodies and deeply satirical, highly offensive lyrics concerning serial killers. It is a wildly manic, controversial classic that blurred the boundaries between extreme death metal and pitch-black musical comedy.
