Recorded quickly in an abandoned Lisbon monastery, this debut effectively modernizes the deeply melancholic 'saudade' of traditional fado music. The acoustic interplay of classical guitars and cello provides an incredibly pure, pastoral backdrop for Teresa Salgueiro's stunningly crystalline vocal delivery, launching the group to international renown.
