Magnum II

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Ten Years After's Leo Lyons, the British ensemble's sophomore effort slightly tempers their grandiose progressive tendencies in favor of driving, melodic hard rock. The record features sharper guitar hooks and a more direct vocal delivery from Bob Catley, aiming squarely at the burgeoning arena-rock and pomp-rock markets. It helped establish a crucial stepping stone toward their significant commercial success in the following decade.
