Asakawa Maki no sekai

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Cloaked in the atmospheric gloom of the Shinjuku underground, this captivating release blends traditional Japanese vocal delivery with the smoky, late-night aesthetics of Western blues and jazz. The artist's distinctive, world-weary contralto transforms the sparse, acoustic-driven arrangements into a haunting exploration of urban isolation and melancholy.
