Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded incredibly quickly to capitalize on the massive international success of 'Soul Makossa', the Cameroonian saxophonist delivered a relentless, highly percussive instrumental funk masterpiece. Built on driving, repetitive Afrobeat grooves, explosive brass hits, and prominent use of wah-wah guitar, the sessions perfectly bridged traditional African polyrhythms with American soul and psychedelia. It has become a foundational text for modern funk enthusiasts and sample-based producers worldwide.
