Album Notes & Community Reviews

Unearthed from the late 1970s New York no wave scene, 'Live at the Village Gate 1977' captures Mars in their abrasive, dissonant prime. The archival live recording documents the quartet's jagged, untutored approach to art punk, prioritizing chaotic noise and rhythm over traditional melodic structures. It provides an essential historical glimpse into the formative stages of downtown experimental rock.
