Album Notes & Community Reviews
Exuding an overwhelmingly bright, sun-drenched optimism, 'Jolly Jive' perfectly captures the breezy essence of Japanese City Pop and instrumental fusion. Masayoshi Takanaka's guitar work is immaculately melodic and effortlessly virtuosic, backed by slick, disco-infused rhythmic arrangements. The album notably includes the massive instrumental hit 'Blue Lagoon', which became an enduring anthem of Japanese summer leisure.
