Masterminded by Bill Laswell, this ambient-dub project is fundamentally anchored by the hypnotic spoken-word recitations of legendary Beat author William S. Burroughs. The album wraps Burroughs' dry, philosophical excerpts from 'The Western Lands' in dense, Middle Eastern-flavored percussion and slow, menacing basslines. It stands as one of the most musically sophisticated and atmospheric collaborations of Burroughs' late career.
