Album Notes & Community Reviews

Merging their jagged post-punk origins with traditional country music tropes, the band delivered a defining statement for the burgeoning cowpunk movement. 'The Mekons Honky Tonkin'' addresses the socio-political climate of Thatcher-era Britain through the lens of desolate Americana. The recording captures a spirited, ramshackle energy driven by deadpan vocals and roots instrumentation.
