Continuing to operate as a quartet featuring the dual-drummer attack of Coady Willis and Dale Crover, the sludge metal veterans deliver a relatively straightforward, remarkably muscular rock record. Eschewing their penchant for extended ambient noise, the album focuses on tightly coiled, blues-inflected stoner riffs that nod heavily to classic 1970s hard rock. It proved the legendary act was still capable of producing incredibly vital, heavy music over two decades into their career.
