Album Notes & Community Reviews

Elevating their darkly theatrical heavy metal to its absolute peak, Mercyful Fate delivered a highly complex, intricately arranged masterpiece of the occult underground. King Diamond's iconic, multi-octave falsetto shrieks narrate explicitly Satanic lyricism over the remarkably melodic, galloping twin-guitar attack of Hank Shermann and Michael Denner. 'Don't Break the Oath' is a highly energetic, suspenseful, and profoundly influential blueprint for extreme metal.
