On 'MM3', the São Paulo trio Metá Metá pushes their fusion of Afro-Brazilian traditions and avant-jazz into a heavier, more aggressive rock and punk-oriented territory. The album is defined by the turbulent interplay between Juçara Marçal's commanding vocals, Kiko Dinucci's raw, angular guitar, and Thiago França's explosive saxophone, with lyrical themes reflecting the political and spiritual crises of the time. Inspired by visits to Morocco, the arrangements also incorporate North African influences, creating a varied and intense sound that is captured by a clean, tight production.
