Formed in Madrid, Meteosat named their only album after a punk respelling of 'Sputnik' and recorded it with producer Fino Oyonarte of Los Enemigos. The record sold around 35,000 copies and topped the Spanish sales charts, an improbable mainstream breakthrough that made it the defining document of tontipop.
