Katzenmusik

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Backed by the iconic 'motorik' drumming of Can's Jaki Liebezeit, the Neu! guitarist delivered a profoundly melodic and structurally repetitive instrumental solo album. The record is composed of twelve interconnected, deeply hypnotic variations on a central musical theme, heavily emphasizing his layered, effects-drenched guitar techniques. The warm, remarkably peaceful textures heavily influenced the subsequent development of ambient and post-rock music.
