Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Encounter' was Stearns's first album for Stephen Hill's Hearts of Space label after his Sonic Atmospheres years, extending the deep space synthesizer sound he had developed on 'Chronos'. Its floating, sequenced textures made it a staple of the ambient programming Hill carried to American radio.
