Album Notes & Community Reviews
On her fourth full-length album, Madeline Johnston pushes her 'heaven metal' sound into new territory, exploring her own roots in the American West. 'No Depression In Heaven' is a conceptual work that masterfully integrates the sparse, melancholic aesthetics of alternative and gothic country into her signature doomgaze and slowcore framework. The album is an introspective meditation on faith, grief, and place, creating a unique and powerful form of Americana-infused heavy music.
