Album Notes & Community Reviews

Tasked with the impossible mission of following up the monumental 'Tubular Bells', Mike Oldfield retreated to the countryside to craft a distinctly gentle, highly evocative instrumental suite. 'Hergest Ridge' is beautifully pastoral and remarkably melodic, utilizing deeply warm acoustic guitars and subtle orchestration to evoke a profoundly atmospheric, spring-like progressive folk landscape.
