Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded in Tokyo with a fierce ensemble of Japanese avant-garde heavyweights, 'Meditation Among Us' captures legendary drummer Milford Graves leading an intensely chaotic and spiritual session. The acoustic improvisations are wildly energetic and atonal, prioritizing pure emotional release over traditional harmonic structure. It stands as a radical, cross-cultural triumph of free jazz ideology.
