Come to My Garden

On her debut solo album 'Come to My Garden', Minnie Riperton moved away from the rock-soul fusion of her prior band, Rotary Connection, embracing a lush, orchestral sound guided by producer and arranger Charles Stepney. The album’s material, largely composed of minor-key ballads written by Stepney and Richard Rudolph, provides a sophisticated, cinematic backdrop for Riperton’s celebrated five-octave vocal range.
