Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Moby Grape '69' found the San Francisco band moving toward a more concise country-rock and folk-rock sound after the upheaval surrounding their earlier releases. Skip Spence's absence from the lineup changed the group's chemistry, leaving a more restrained ensemble identity. The album is often heard as a calmer counterpart to the explosive promise of their debut.
