Album Notes & Community Reviews

Deliberately alienating his massive electronic dance music fanbase, the superstar producer released a furiously abrasive, guitar-driven punk rock album. The aggressive, heavily distorted compositions are interspersed with fleeting, highly emotional ambient interludes, reflecting a period of intense personal depression and creative frustration. The radical stylistic pivot was a massive commercial failure, drastically derailing his career until the unprecedented success of 'Play'.
