Mogwai's eleventh studio album, 'The Bad Fire', was produced by John Congleton and recorded in Scotland. Following a period of personal loss and hardship for the band members, the album was described as a refuge and something they feel is special. The title is an old Scottish term for hell, reflected in the volcanic crater cover art. The album's release was preceded by several singles, including "God Gets You Back" and "Lion Rumpus".
