Biography

Mogwai are a highly influential Scottish band formed in Glasgow in 1995, and are considered pioneers of the post-rock genre. Their largely instrumental music is renowned for its vast dynamic range, shifting from quiet, melodic passages to overwhelming walls of guitar distortion and effects. After signing to Glasgow's #Chemikal Underground# label, they released their seminal debut 'Mogwai Young Team', a landmark album that defined their sound. The band later established their own #Rock Action# label, while also releasing music on #Matador# and #Sub Pop#. Their work, including acclaimed albums like 'Come On Die Young' and 'Mr Beast', has had a profound impact on instrumental rock music.
