Album Notes & Community Reviews

Joni Haastrup formed Monomono in Lagos after playing with Ginger Baker's Air Force, fronting the band alongside bassist Baba Kenneth Okolulo and guitarist Danjuma 'Jimi Lee' Adamu. Their seven-track debut fused Afrobeat rhythm with rock and soul harmony singing, a sound Soundway's later reissue carried to a new audience.
