Maladjusted presents a more conventional guitar sound compared to its predecessor. It had lukewarm reception upon release, but it features 'Alma Matters', a classic often played in concerts to this day. It also features 'Sorrow Will Come in the End', an enraged song about the Smiths' drummer Mike Joyce royalties dispute which had ended unfavorably for Morrissey. This track was dropped from the UK release.
