Album Notes & Community Reviews
Former Emperor bassist H氓vard Ellefsen fully realizes his grand, deeply fantastical vision of electronic dark ambient with this seminal dungeon synth release. Comprised of two massive, highly repetitive synthesizer suites, the album paints vivid, intensely melancholic pictures of forgotten medieval landscapes and mythic sorrow. It effectively laid the absolute foundation for the entirety of the dungeon synth microgenre.
