Album Notes & Community Reviews

Further establishing his unique, highly influential hybrid of sophisticated modern jazz and earthy Southern blues, the pianist delivers a characteristically wry, swinging session. His angular, percussive piano solos provide a brilliant contrast to his relaxed, incredibly distinctive drawling vocal delivery. The album is a quintessential statement from one of the most idiosyncratic and enduring voices in mid-century music.
