Biography
Mose Allison (1927-2016) was an American jazz and blues pianist, singer and songwriter from Tippo, Mississippi. After moving to New York in 1956 and playing with *Stan Getz* and *Al Cohn*, he led his own trios from 'Back Country Suite' (1957) onward, recording for #Prestige Records#, #Atlantic Records# and #Blue Note#. Songs such as 'Parchman Farm' and 'Young Man Blues', the latter a live staple for *The Who*, made his laconic, witty style influential across jazz, blues and rock.
