Album Notes & Community Reviews
Hungarian folk ensemble Muzsikás worked with musicologist Zoltán Simon to revive the Jewish repertoire of Máramaros, drawing on his unpublished transcriptions and on Romani musicians whose fathers had played for Jewish communities before the war. Across fourteen tracks, including 'Khosid Wedding Dances', 'Ane Maamin' and 'Haneros Halelu', vocalist Márta Sebestyén joins core members Mihály Sipos, Péter Éri, Sándor Csoóri and Dániel Hamar, with cimbalom player Árpád Toni among the guests.
