Album Notes & Community Reviews

The third studio album by Necromantia, 'IV: Malice' restructures black metal around an absent center: seven tracks built without rhythm guitar, Baron Blood's eight-string bass carrying the riffing beneath Magus Wampyr Daoloth's vocals. Founded in Athens in 1989, pioneers of Hellenic black metal alongside Rotting Christ and Varathron, the duo fold saxophone, flute, piano and keyboards into the arrangements.
