Fires Within Fires

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Fires Within Fires' is a raw and focused work, stripping the band's sound to its essential elements while sacrificing none of its hallmark intensity; Steve Albini's production captures the dynamic interplay between crushing, primal doom metal and moments of quiet, atmospheric contemplation. Released on their 30th anniversary, the album's themes of internal struggle and transcendence are delivered with a visceral immediacy, serving as a powerful late-career statement and the band's final studio recording with founding member Scott Kelly.
