Neurosis

Biography

Neurosis is a highly influential American band, celebrated for pioneering the post-metal genre. Formed in Oakland, California, the group began as a hardcore punk outfit before evolving their sound into a unique and crushing amalgamation of sludge metal, doom, industrial, and experimental ambiance. Their music is characterized by colossal, cyclical riffs, dual tormented vocals, and a palpable sense of spiritual and emotional weight. Albums like 'Souls at Zero' and the #Relapse Records# release 'Through Silver in Blood' are considered landmarks that expanded the boundaries of heavy music. In 1999, the band founded their own label, #Neurot Recordings#, to control their artistic output and support like-minded artists.
