Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following a prolonged commercial slump and the dissolution of his marriage to Carlene Carter, Nick Lowe reinvented himself completely with this remarkably intimate, country-soul comeback. The record eschews his trademark power-pop irony for raw, vulnerable balladeering, successfully establishing his highly respected later-career persona as an elder statesman of roots rock.
