Album Notes & Community Reviews

A pioneering force in the early UK rave scene, the Scottish-Nigerian singer-songwriter delivered a remarkably forward-thinking debut that defied easy categorization. 'Now Is Early' juxtaposes her delicate, Billie Holiday-esque vocal deliveries with aggressive, splintered breakbeats and heavy sub-bass. The project anticipated the rise of jungle and drum and bass while retaining a deeply soulful, poetic core.
