Album Notes & Community Reviews

The masterful tres player leads his ensemble through an incredibly fluid, rhythmically dynamic session bridging traditional Cuban son with the harmonic complexities of the 'filin' movement. The arrangements integrate sophisticated jazz voicings without ever sacrificing the deep, acoustic groove of the Caribbean roots material. It is a highly respected, deeply romantic artifact of Havana's golden musical era.
