Album Notes & Community Reviews

Bursting out of Bordeaux, Noir D茅sir established themselves as the preeminent voice of French alternative rock with this incredibly intense full-length debut. Bertrand Cantat's intensely poetic, Baudelaire-inspired lyricism is matched by the band's brooding, high-energy fusion of post-punk and blues-rock. The massive success of the single 'Aux sombres h茅ros de l'amer' propelled the album to national prominence.
